What we love about Harris Tweed

The cloth is extremely versatile. Lending itself to clothesbagscushionsslippers as well as upholstery, curtains, teddies, brooches. You name it, it has probably been made in Harris Tweed.

The rich colors, from subtle herringbones to vibrant plaids. There is something for everyone.

Harris Tweed is a cloth with a heritage so important that it is protected by an act of parliament (the Harris Tweed Act 1993).

Harris Tweed is made to last. Here at Glenalmond Tweed we are still using and loving coats, caps and bags that were made at the time of our first catalog many moons ago.

It's natural and highly sustainable.

Harris Tweed is hand-woven to a very high standard by expert weavers in their homes. It is then finished at one of the three mills in the Outer Hebrides.

It comes from one of the most beautiful places on earth.

And finally, being based on the side of a Perthshire hill we can tell you Harris Tweed is warm!
